LCNM together with Hospital Sultanah Aminah Johor (HSAJB) and Gleagles Hospital Johor, held a Free Lung Cancer Screening & Public Forum on 8 December 2024. The venue for the screening & forum was at Gleneagles Hospital Johor given space constrains in HSAJB.
The event officiated by Johor State Health Director Dr Mohtar Pungut, featured awareness talks by LCNM’s cardiothoracic surgeon, Prof Anand Sachithanandan, and pulmonologist, Dr Hilmi Lockman and a virtual presentation from oncologist Dr Tho Lye Mun. The event was also supported by HSAJB Director, Dr Nizam Subahir, deputy director, Dr Sharath Chandran and GHJ medical director Dr Abdul Kadir plus several local medical specialists in addition to the wonderful GHJ & HSAJB staff.
Following the free Artificial Intelligency (AI) assisted chest X-Ray screening, those found with abnormal chest X-Ray proceeded to Low Dose CT (LDCT) Scan in Glenegeagles Hospital Johor. Following the LDCT outcome, individuals were given the choice to follow-up in HSAJB or proceed for further consultation in Gleneagles Hospital itself, thereby closing the screening & diagnosis loop.
